A few years ago, most work-related roles could be reasonably easily explained. But as the digital age has progressed, roles have become more intangible and difficult to describe. Enter artist Tony Ruth.

Borrowing heavily from children’s author Richard Scarry, Ruth has created BusinessTown.

In his words:

An ongoing project attempting to explain our highly intangible, deeply disruptive, data-driven, venture-backed, gluten-free economic meritocracy to the uninitiated. With apologies to Richard Scarry.

I’m old enough to have read Richard Scarry books as a kid – Busy, Busy World was a huge favourite. In fact, we still have several of his books in our home, and our kids love them. So when I came across this site it made my day, with its descriptions and tags of modern day, Silicon Valley inspired roles and titles.
